Uploading or FTPing your creation You’ve planned out the site, built it, sweated over the details, checked, rechecked and checked again for mistakes or bad links and are now ready to share it with the world. If you haven’t done this before, a web host with a gentle hand will be helpful. Most site building software worth a darn will have the ability to ftp (send your files) up to your web host. You’ll need to set up your username and password assigned by the host as well as the server name and folder in which they want your files to reside within your site building software. Once that is set up and you are connected to the internet you will be able to login and transfer your files for all the world to see. They are called PSA’s for short. Want to see a PSA? CLICK HERE In today’s world, almost everyone has access to a digital still camera of one sort or another. Most have access to a relatively high quality digital video camera, and a large group have access to digital video editing capabilities on their home computer. This will get some PIO’s to thinking, “we can produce our own video PSA’s or presentation videos!” This is a good idea to have if you execute it correctly. |
