Once you have created your own one-sheeter, have about 100 printed up. They will come in handy for all sorts of things, from media introductions to local talks at the Chamber of Commerce. But if your contact information changes, get NEW ones made. Nothing is worse for a PIO than having old and incorrect contact information out there. It says that you are not really interested. Follow up your introductory letters about 2 months later by sending your new one-sheeter. You may want to add a brief note to go with it, that's up to you. Put the rest of your one-sheeters into your PIO go kit - you'll need them. Questions 5.1 The first thing a new PIO should do is a) Write the club newsletter b) Gather names of local reporters and their contact info c) Send out a press release d) Talk to the local Men’s Club 5.2 The goal of Public Relations is to a) recruit new hams b) recruit more club members c) develop positive relationships d) raise funds 5.3 A “one sheeter” is a) self promotion b) announces your availability c) lists the topics you can discuss with authority d) all of the above |
